100 Years of Welfare Park

That the Parliament recognises Newtongrange Welfare Park's centenary; understands the importance of Welfare Park as a place for the community to come together for sporting events, music performances and local gatherings; notes that the community celebrated the 100th anniversary of Welfare Park with live music from Newtongrange Silver Band and Midlothian Community Concert Band, a marching display, a performance from Be Happy Performing Arts Company, recitals from Gorebridge Community Choir and entertainment from Black Diamond FM, as well traditional children’s games, face painting and fairground rides, and commends everyone at Newtongrange Community Council for organising the event.
