That the Parliament acknowledges the outstanding work of the Dundee Stroke Exercise Club which supports people living with the effects of stroke to continue their rehabilitation and regain confidence, independence and quality of life; understands that Dundee Stroke Exercise was established in 2011 to provide specialised classes in community settings after people with lived experience of stroke indicated that they did not want to go back to a hospital environment; further understands that the club provides physical, emotional, psychological and social support to stroke survivors, as well as support and connection for their carers and families; thanks the 30 volunteers who support 132 members in a welcoming and supportive environment; notes that the club work aligns with the Scottish Government’s Stroke Improvement Programme, and commends the hard work, dedication and determination of Margaret Mitchell MBE, Chair of the Dundee Stroke Exercise Club.
