Voices o’ the Borders Celebrates First Anniversary

That the Parliament congratulates Voices o’ the Borders on celebrating its first anniversary; understands that the Selkirk-based community choir aims to entertain, educate and contribute to the local community while promoting fun, friendship and wellbeing through singing; notes that the inclusive choir welcomes adults from Selkirk and surrounding communities regardless of previous singing experience and does not hold auditions; understands that members themselves help to choose the choir’s repertoire, which includes music from the 1960s through to the present day; notes that the choir gave its first public performance at Selkirk Farmers’ Market in August 2025 and has since established itself as part of Selkirk’s community and musical life; welcomes its plans to mark its first anniversary with a community singing challenge; commends everyone involved in establishing and developing Voices o’ the Borders, including choir lead AmyBeth Beel, and wishes the choir and all of its members continued success.
