That the Parliament congratulates Woodburn Primary School in Dalkeith on the outstanding achievement of its P6 Euroquiz team, who secured second place in the national Euroquiz final, which was held at the McEwan Hall in Edinburgh; recognises that this is the first time a Midlothian school has placed in the top three of the competition, which involved more than 590 schools from across Scotland; commends the pupils for their exceptional dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to learning, demonstrated through 10 months of preparation, including weekly lunchtime study sessions and independent and small group study; acknowledges the high standard of knowledge required across a wide range of subjects, including Spanish, French, Italian, German, History, Geography, Politics, European Affairs and Culture; commends the hard work, encouragement and support of staff, particularly Mrs Lucia Poves de la Rosa and Mrs Eleanor Garwood, whose commitment helped make this success possible; wishes the pupils, staff and wider school community continuing success in the future, and notes that Woodburn's 2026-2027 P6 Euroquiz Team is formed and starting to prepare for the Midlothian Euroquiz Heats in March 2027.
