That the Parliament congratulates Clair McDonald on being named the recipient of the Alasdair McKee Young Person of the Year Award 2026 in recognition of her outstanding commitment, resilience and personal growth; recognises the remarkable journey that Clair has undertaken since completing the WorkingRite programme and her continued contribution as a valued volunteer with the Mobile Community Shop operated by Good Food Scotland; commends Clair on becoming the first recipient of the Alasdair McKee Award winner to have her own tenancy with Glen Oaks Housing Association, marking an important milestone in her journey towards independence; welcomes her appointment to the Glen Oaks Housing Association Board, helping to ensure that the voices and experiences of young people are represented in its decision-making; recognises the support provided by Anne Wright at WorkingRite Glasgow South, who identified Clair’s potential, supported her beyond the usual programme and helped establish her mentoring relationship with Simon McNeill at Good Food Scotland; further recognises Simon for his role as an excellent mentor and the wider contribution of WorkingRite and Good Food Scotland in supporting young people to develop their confidence, skills and opportunities, and wishes Clair every success for the future.
