That the Parliament welcomes the “Go All In” campaign, which is being run to support the National Year of Reading 2026; understands that the National Year of Reading is an initiative led by the National Literacy Trust alongside a group of literacy sector charities to re-energise reading as a meaningful, accessible, everyday activity; understands that reading has been linked to better attainment, wellbeing, confidence, empathy and participation in society; acknowledges studies suggesting that five minutes of reading can reduce daily stress by nearly 20%; recognises that after several years of decline, 2026 has seen an increase in both reading enjoyment and daily reading amongst children and young people aged from eight to 18; celebrates the positive impact that the National Year of Reading 2026 and the “Go All In” campaign have had so far, and wishes them all the best in the future.
