Recognising the Contribution of Gordon Kerr, Vince Ho and the Back on the Road Project

That the Parliament recognises the outstanding contribution made by Gordon Kerr, Vince Ho and the Back on the Road project, in supporting individuals affected by addiction and helping them rebuild their lives through recovery; understands that the project, which is based at the Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust, Bridgeton Bus Garage, provides practical training, education, volunteering opportunities and community support that enable participants to develop valuable work skills, life skills, confidence and a renewed sense of purpose; notes that more than 100 individuals have benefited from the programme, with many progressing into further education, employment, volunteering and sustained recovery; commends the dedication, compassion and commitment shown by Gordon, Vince and the wider team in recognising the potential of every individual and providing encouragement without judgement; recognises the wider positive impact that the project has had on families, communities and the city of Glasgow by reducing isolation, promoting social inclusion and supporting long-term recovery; believes that Back on the Road represents an outstanding example of community-led rehabilitation and the transformative power of volunteering, heritage skills and peer support, and congratulates Gordon, Vince and everyone involved with the project for their exceptional contribution to improving lives and strengthening communities across Glasgow.
