Tollcross Pub Fundraisers Raise £5,800 for Cancer Charities

That the Parliament congratulates the fundraisers at Elder’s Bar in Tollcross, who raised £5,800 for Marie Curie and the Beatson Cancer Charity; understands that the fundraising efforts were led by Elder’s Bar owners, Mary MacNamee and Robert McIntyre; further understands that Mary and Robert have drawn on their personal experience of loved ones affected by cancer to inspire their fundraising efforts; recognises the generosity, dedication and community spirit shown by staff, customers and supporters of Elder’s Bar at the sold-out charity pub night; notes what it sees as the important role that local pubs and community venues can play in bringing people together in support of good causes; commends everyone who contributed to the fundraising total, and wishes them every success for the future.
