That the Parliament congratulates Balmaud Distillery on winning the Best Drink Product (Young Business) award for its Balmaud Scottish Dry Gin and the Innovation in Agriculture award at the 2026 North East Scotland Food and Drink Awards; recognises that these accolades highlight exceptional product quality, innovation and commercial success within the region's food and drink sector; acknowledges that Balmaud Distillery is a new distillery, based near Turriff, which has been widely praised for its compelling story, clean taste and distinctive packaging; congratulates the company on also winning Best Tradestand in the Scotland's Larder category at the 2026 Royal Highland Show, reflecting the quality and presentation of its exhibition stand; notes that the North East Scotland Food and Drink Awards were delivered by Opportunity North East in partnership with Aberdeenshire Council, with Marks & Spencer as the headline retail partner, and recognises the significant contribution of the north east's food and drink sector, which supports around 22,000 jobs, generates £2.4 billion annually and accounts for around 20% of Scotland's food and drink output.
