  • Submitted by: Jackie Dunbar, Aberdeen Donside, Scottish National Party
  • Date lodged: Monday, 29 June 2026
  • Motion type: Standard Motion
  • Motion reference: S7M-00520

That the Parliament congratulates the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital (RACH) on achieving Magnet designation with distinction for care excellence; believes that the RACH is the first children’s hospital in Europe and the first hospital in Scotland to achieve Magnet designation; understands that, as part of the assessment, patients, family members, staff and members of the public were invited to provide feedback and then RACH welcomed the American Nurses Credentialing Centre (ANCC) to assess their work at the end of April 2026; notes that the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program represents the highest credential a healthcare organisation can achieve, with designation indicating that organisations have met the most stringent, evidence-based standards of nursing excellence in patient care delivery; congratulates all staff at RACH for this outstanding achievement, and wishes them continued success in the years ahead.
