Ocean Vertical Achieves B Corp Certification

That the Parliament congratulates Dunbar-based Ocean Vertical on becoming Scotland’s latest Certified B Corporation; recognises that B Corp certification, awarded by the non-profit organisation B Lab, is granted to businesses that meet rigorous, independently verified standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency; understands that Ocean Vertical, an ethical outdoor adventure company founded in 2019, has embedded sustainability, community engagement and responsible land and coastal use at the heart of its operations; notes that the company achieved a B Impact Assessment score of 85, exceeding the qualifying threshold, and joins what it considers to be a growing global movement of businesses seeking to use enterprise as a force for good; understands that Ocean Vertical’s work supports local tourism and outdoor activity in East Lothian while promoting environmental stewardship, and commends the company, its founders and staff for their leadership in demonstrating that commercial success can be balanced with positive social and environmental impact.
