That the Parliament recognises that Singer Station School of Music will be presenting the forthcoming original musical, Breaking the Mould, at Denny Civic Theatre from 6 to 8 August 2026; notes that Singer Station has been giving young people opportunities to grow in confidence, discover their talents and find their voice for over 20 years; recognises that they have appeared on national television programmes including The Voice UK and Your Song with Alison Hammond; understands that this production has been written specifically for young people and addresses a range of issues affecting children and teenagers across Scotland, including bullying, friendship, peer pressure, social media, neurodiversity, the experiences of young carers and looked after young people, and the pressures associated with fitting in; commends the creative team at Singer Station, the performers and everyone who is involved in bringing this original work to the stage; acknowledges the importance of providing opportunities for young people to engage with the arts in ways that reflect their lived experiences; welcomes the production’s positive message that young people should stay true to themselves, choose friendships wisely and understand that they never have to change who they are to gain acceptance, and celebrates the show’s central theme, "Be yourself. Find your voice. Break the mould.”
