That the Parliament congratulates Bannockburn resident, Gemma Thomson, on completing a 256-mile walk from Scotland's most easterly mainland point to its most westerly mainland point between 24 April and 9 May 2026; understands that the challenge was undertaken on the 10th anniversary of the death of her father, the writer John Tytler Thomson, who had himself completed an east-to-west ride across Scotland in 2008 after learning to ride following a stroke; recognises the dedication, resilience and determination required to complete such an endeavour, which included walking around 26 miles a day; commends the fundraising efforts that have raised nearly £1,500 for a wheelchair for her friend, who is living with Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy, as well as The Stroke Association, with donations continuing to be collected; notes that the achievement has been featured in The Courier, the Stirling Observer, the Daily Record and the Brechin Advertiser, and wishes her every success in the final stages of the fundraising campaign.
