That the Parliament congratulates the Bunkeroo performing arts group, based in Gatehouse of Fleet, on the celebration of its 20th anniversary; recognises that Bunkeroo, part of TGB Gatehouse, was established following the initial idea and vision of Sara Leigh Cain and has since become a valued community initiative providing opportunities for children and young people to engage in dance, drama and performance, helping to build confidence, creativity and skills; understands that since opening its doors in 2006, the group has gone from strength to strength, supporting young people to develop both artistically and personally and regularly showcasing its talents at local events and productions; acknowledges the dedication of volunteers, leaders and families who have sustained the group’s success over two decades; notes the special 20th anniversary celebration event being held in Gatehouse Parish Church, including a retrospective show reflecting on productions from across the group’s history; commends in particular the achievements of Bunkeroo’s young leaders, several of whom will be presented with Saltire Awards in recognition of completing an outstanding 500 hours of volunteering, with some having been involved in the group since the age of three, and thanks all those involved for their ongoing contribution to community life in Gatehouse of Fleet and across Dumfries and Galloway.
