That the Parliament welcomes the news that a further 1,000 places have been added to the Aberdeen Half Marathon 2026; notes that the event, which will take place on 18 July 2026, is one of Scotland’s newest running events; acknowledges that demand has been phenomenal with initial places selling out swiftly; understands that the course will show off some of the North East region's most stunning scenery with the start line placed in the historic Duthie Park; believes that the event is an excellent opportunity to promote health, wellbeing and community participation through sport; encourages people across the North East region to join Jack Middleton MSP in taking on the 13.1 mile challenge, and celebrates that organisers hope that a successful half marathon can lead to the launch of an Aberdeen Marathon in 2027.
