That the Parliament recognises what it sees as the need for a cohesive bus network in rural areas; understands that some services in Midlothian North have been reduced or cancelled to the detriment of residents, including the withdrawal of Lothian Buses' 46 service; believes that this damages the local economy and disproportionately impacts vulnerable people in their access to jobs, healthcare and education; welcomes the commitment to a £2 bus fare cap, and notes the view that this must coincide with an improvement to rural bus networks.
