That the Parliament welcomes the news that the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) is set to return to Scotland from 2027; notes that the new round, named WRC Rally Scotland, will be headquartered in Aberdeen, securing the North East’s place on the international rally calendar for the first time, as part of a three-year agreement between Motorsport UK, WRC Promoter and the Scottish Government; understands that the new gravel-base event will see stages running across Aberdeenshire and Moray, with service park facilities located in Aberdeen’s P&J Live complex; believes that this will bring significant economic and tourism benefits to Aberdeen and the surrounding areas, showcasing the North East to a global audience of 1.3 billion, and wishes all those involved all the very best in establishing WRC Rally Scotland as a major international sporting event.
