That the Parliament congratulates Sam Anderson from Grangemouth on winning the Modern Apprentice of the Year SCQF Level 5 Award at the Scottish Apprenticeship Awards on 26 February 2026; notes that Sam undertook her Rural Skills Apprenticeship at Muiravonside Country Park, sharing her knowledge and passion for nature and wildlife whilst leading events and group visits, and helping to deliver more than 60 sessions with the conservation group, which involved working with more than 30 volunteers; further notes that Sam's efforts in her apprentice role resulted in an increase in capacity for ranger-led education and activities at the country park, benefiting at least 2,550 children and 1,880 adults; recognises that Sam's achievements during her apprenticeship also include the successful completion of her Level 5 SVQ in Environmental Conservation, assessed by Scotland’s Rural College, and gaining certificates in outdoor first aid, use of a brush cutter and chainsaw crosscutting; further recognises that, following completion of her apprenticeship, Sam has continued to work at Muiravonside Country Park and is now studying for her HNC in Wildlife and Conservation Management; acknowledges that the Scottish Apprenticeship Awards celebrate the incredible work of Foundation, Modern and Graduate Apprentices from across the country and from a range of sectors; congratulates Sam on receiving this outstanding recognition, and wishes her the best of luck in her future career.
