  • Date lodged: Monday, 02 March 2026
  • Motion type: Standard Motion
  • Motion reference: S6M-20937

That the Parliament recognises the Milngavie Pipe Band for reaching a significant milestone of 60 years since its founding; celebrates the founding members who still participate and play a vital role in the Pipe Band today; understands that the Milngavie Pipe Band first tuned up in the Corbie Ha’ in 1966, where they still call home today; further understands that the band wears Buchanan Weathered tartan to honour the former Provost of Milngavie John Buchanan, who secured the use of the Corbie Ha’, one of the oldest buildings in the town, and congratulates all the members of the Pipe Band and all the volunteers, who play a vital role in instructing young people and conserving a beloved, historic town institution.
