That the Parliament congratulates Call to Stage on the successful staging of its production of Spring Awakening in Glasgow, following the sudden closure of the Centre for Contemporary Arts; notes the determination of the company, led by co-founders Olivia Attwooll-Keith and Jennifer Warren, alongside director Joseph Reid, assistant director Gregor Robertson and musical director Moray McConnachie, to ensure the show went ahead despite the last-minute venue challenges; recognises the efforts of the entire production team and 14 cast members, who continued rehearsals while juggling full-time jobs, demonstrating creativity, resilience and commitment to the arts; appreciates the support of the National Piping Centre in providing an alternative venue, enabling the performance to take place; believes that this achievement highlights the vital importance of independent theatre in Scotland, the dedication of early-career artists and the contribution of the arts to Scotland’s cultural life, and commends all those involved for their extraordinary perseverance and inspiring work.
