That the Parliament congratulates Celtic Connections 2026 on a record-breaking year as Scotland’s premier folk and world music festival; notes that the 18-day Glasgow event welcomed around 114,000 attendees across more than 300 gigs at 25 venues, with over 200 sell-out shows; recognises the participation of artists from more than 35 countries; acknowledges four free concerts for nearly 7,000 children and young people, highlighting the festival’s role in inspiring the next generation; appreciates the leadership of creative director Donald Shaw and Glasgow Life in delivering performances marked by hope, inspiration and togetherness despite dreich winter weather, and commends all organisers, performers, volunteers, sponsors and audiences for strengthening Scotland’s global cultural reputation and making this landmark festival possible.
