That the Parliament welcomes the news that Aberdeen has been awarded the Host Port Trophy at The Sail Training International Annual Awards; notes that the trophy, which is awarded to the port that made it possible for the greatest number of young people to participate in the Tall Ships Races, was awarded during the Sail Training International Conference in Bordeaux, France, on 24 January 2026; understands that 244 young people joined the Tall Ships Races as sail trainees from north east Scotland through funding and trainee marketing schemes; believes that this award recognises the great teamwork and effort put in by the organisers of the event, including Aberdeen City Council, Port of Aberdeen and Aberdeen Inspired, and hopes that all the young people who took advantage of this opportunity found it to be a worthwhile and exciting experience.
