That the Parliament recognises and celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Keep Scotland Beautiful initiative in 2026, marking six decades of community-led environmental improvement, civic pride and local action across Scotland; notes that 2026 is designated as the United Nations’ International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development, with the theme, People Power: Creating a Sustainable Future through Volunteering; acknowledges what it sees as the vital contribution of volunteers in strengthening communities, protecting Scotland’s natural and built environment and advancing sustainable development; welcomes the creation of a one-off People Power Award for 2026 to mark this significant dual milestone, and commends projects and initiatives that celebrate both the legacy of Keep Scotland Beautiful and the power of volunteering in creating a more sustainable, inclusive and resilient future for Scotland.
