That the Parliament welcomes the return of Founders’ Week at the University of Aberdeen; notes that the week-long programme of events, running from 9 to 13 February 2026, marks the 531st anniversary of the University of Aberdeen’s foundation in 1495, by William Elphinstone, Bishop of Aberdeen and Chancellor of Scotland, as King’s College; understands that events will give members of the public the opportunity to explore groundbreaking research at the University through hands-on activities, as well as tours of the campus and visits to the Gallery at the Sir Duncan Rice Library and the Zoology Museum, and the prestigious Andrew Carnegie Lecture by Dr Suzanne O’Sullivan; believes that this event is a great way of celebrating the University of Aberdeen’s long and illustrious history of teaching and research, and wishes everyone taking part all the very best with their endeavours.
