Recognising the Contribution of Jon Oakey, Chief Financial Officer for Port of Aberdeen, on his Retirement

That the Parliament acknowledges the significant contribution Jon Oakey has made to Port of Aberdeen, as he prepares to retire in 2026; notes that Jon Oakey became the port’s chief financial officer, and simultaneously a member of the Board of Directors, in 2019; celebrates his instrumental role in securing funding and managing governance for the £420 million Aberdeen South Harbour expansion, one of the biggest marine infrastructure projects within the UK; commends Jon's pivotal contribution to delivering record revenue of £50.7 million for Port of Aberdeen in 2024, alongside an operating profit of £24.5 million; recognises his distinguished career of over 35 years in financial management, including senior roles in multiple oil and gas businesses, in Bristow Helicopters, in addition to serving as the managing director of Stagecoach’s East Scotland division and his current role as a board member of Energy Transition Zone (ETZ) Ltd, and wishes Jon a happy and fulfilling retirement.
