That the Parliament recognises the immense courage and bravery of the RNLI inshore lifeboat crew at Stranraer after it battled gale force conditions to rescue a 40 ft yacht with one person on board as it was drifting and in danger of being swamped by waves off south west Scotland and blown towards hazardous waters in Loch Ryan; recognises that the lifeboat crew managed to attach control lines to stabilise the stricken vessel, which was then towed to safety by an all-weather lifeboat from Girvan; acknowledges that the challenging rescue operation was carried out in extremely difficult conditions; notes that the crew of the Stena Superfast V11 ferry, which was nearby, kept a watch on the yacht while providing rescue crews with updates on its location; recognises that the volunteer crew from Stranraer RNLI worked calmly and professionally in demanding conditions alongside HM Coastguard and the crew of the Stena ferry; offers its grateful thanks to all those involved in ensuring Scotland's waters remain the safest around, despite often horrendous conditions, and wishes all RNLI and Lifeboat crews continued safety as they go about their tasks.
