That the Parliament commends James Paterson, who is a dedicated marathon runner from Wishaw and who will celebrate his 50th birthday by undertaking an extraordinary challenge to protect children from harm; notes that James will run over 400 miles from Wishaw to London in April 2026, followed by participation in the iconic London Marathon, to raise funds for Children First, which is Scotland’s national children’s charity; recognises his remarkable 15-year commitment to the charity, during which he has raised over £26,000 to support vulnerable children and their families; acknowledges the vital work of Children First in providing practical, emotional and financial support through its national support line and local services, and commends Mr Paterson’s determination and generosity in helping to secure a brighter future for children across Scotland.
