That the Parliament congratulates Gilbert (Gilly) Ferson on being awarded a British Empire Medal in The King’s New Year Honours List for his services to the community in Cambuslang; understands that Gilly has dedicated himself to improving the welfare of older people and the wider community in Cambuslang for over 30 years, volunteering with the LEAP Project, whose board he now chairs; notes that Gilly has also played a pivotal role in many other local charities and associations over the years, including Halfway Tenants Association, North Halfway Hall, Seniors Together and Particip8, and thanks Gilly for his continued work and dedication to supporting his community.
