That the Parliament acknowledges the importance of the annual Martin Luther King Day commemorations on 19 January; recognises the impact of Martin Luther King’s contribution to promoting racial equality and civil rights in the United States; believes that globally, including in Scotland, there is a continued need to campaign for civil rights, equality and justice; acknowledges the important opportunity that Martin Luther King Day provides for reflection and renewed commitment to racial equality and civil rights, and wishes those organisations and individuals campaigning for civil rights and social justice across the country continued success in the years ahead.
