That the Parliament thanks farmers from across the Highlands and Islands region, and other parts of rural Scotland, for giving up their own time to keep their local roads open by clearing snow using their own tractors and snow ploughs; understands that there has been several days of heavy snowfall in January 2026 across Moray, the Highlands and Aberdeenshire, with reportedly up to 12 feet of snow in some places, which has caused significant disruption; believes that the selfless actions of farmers mean that rural communities can continue to access vital food supplies and ensure ambulances and fire services can continue to reach emergencies; notes the call to residents in affected areas not to travel unless it is absolutely necessary, and praises farmers for stepping up to help out during this period of particularly bad weather.
