That the Parliament congratulates Dr Sylvia Halkerston on being appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in recognition of her outstanding service to education and young people; notes her long-standing commitment to supporting learning, opportunity, and the development of future generations; further recognises Dr Halkerston’s historic achievement as the first woman to serve as Lord Dean of Guild of the Burgesses of Guild of the City of Aberdeen; acknowledges what it sees as the significance of her leadership in a role with deep civic heritage, and commends her for her continued dedication to public service and to the people of Aberdeen.
