That the Parliament congratulates Sunamp Ltd, the East Lothian-based heat battery and thermal energy storage innovator, on being named a Business Innovation Award winner by the Institute of Physics in 2025 in recognition of its development of groundbreaking compact thermal storage technology that significantly enhances heat transfer efficiency and energy storage for high flow rate hot water applications; notes the importance of Sunamp’s pioneering latent heat battery technology, which uses advanced phase change materials to store and release thermal energy in a more compact and efficient form compared with conventional hot water cylinders, supporting energy efficiency and net-zero heating solutions; understands that this achievement reflects Scotland’s growing strength in clean tech innovation, advanced manufacturing and physics-based engineering; recognises the contribution of Sunamp’s skilled workforce and research partnerships to Scotland’s economy and climate ambitions, and wishes the company continuing success in growing its global impact and advancing sustainable energy technology.
