That the Parliament congratulates James Aiton Primary School in Cambuslang for recently being awarded a Silver Rights Respecting School Award from UNICEF; understands that the Silver Award was presented in recognition of the school’s work in promoting and championing a rights-based approach in all they do, which includes teaching and learning about rights, nurturing rights-respecting language and attitudes, involving pupils in decision-making, and becoming ambassadors for the rights of others; further understands that the school was particularly praised for its commitment to promoting wellbeing and for its approach to promoting pupil voice, with pupils from across the school involved in the assessment process; commends pupils, staff, parents and carers for being recognised for their efforts to build a school community where respect and equality are lived values, and wishes them all the very best for the future.
