  • Motion reference: S6M-20179

That the Parliament congratulates Glasgow Southside Slowies on being named JogScotland Group of the Year at the annual Scottish Athletics Awards on 30 November 2025; understands that "the Slowies" was founded by husband and wife, Phil and Katie Hume-Hopper, in September 2022 after they relocated to Glasgow and struggled to find a running group that centred on the social aspect of running together; praises their achievements in creating an inclusive group that welcomes people of all ages and abilities, organises runs every Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, has had an estimated 500 active members, and which continues to grow with regular Couch To 5K sessions helping to attract new participants, and wishes them all continued success together.
