As an amendment to motion S6M-19894 in the name of Douglas Lumsden (Backing Oil and Gas), leave out from first "Government's" to end and insert "Conservative and Unionist Party's ideological opposition to credible climate policy; notes the huge opportunity for long-term jobs, energy security, the economy and the environment if both the Scottish and UK governments pursue an informed, worker-led, evidence-based just transition to a sustainable economy; calls on the Scottish Government to finally publish its Energy Strategy and Just Transition Plan, including the presumption against new oil and gas exploration and production, and calls on the UK Government to ensure that the fossil fuel industry, which has generated vast profits while causing the current climate emergency, pays enough tax to make a serious contribution to the cost of transition, instead of leaving this to fall on the state alone."
