That the Parliament celebrates the 15th anniversary of the Lamb for St Andrew’s Day initiative, which encourages people across Scotland to enjoy Scotch lamb on 30 November as part of national celebrations honouring Scotland’s patron saint; recognises the work of organisations across the Scottish red meat supply chain, including Quality Meat Scotland and the Institute of Auctioneers and Appraisers in Scotland, in growing the initiative from its beginnings in 2010 into a nationwide tradition; notes that 2025’s activities include community lunches at livestock marts, bringing together farmers, families and local groups, as well as events with the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs, the National Sheep Association and schools across Scotland; further notes that Scotch lamb will also be served in the Scottish Parliament canteen for MSPs, staff and visitors to enjoy; commends the campaign’s continued focus on celebrating Scotland’s high-quality, nutritious and sustainable lamb, and its role in supporting rural communities and promoting local produce; recognises that Scotch lamb holds UK Geographical Indication (GI) status, reflecting its world-class standards of production and animal welfare, and congratulates all involved on the 15 years of promoting Scotland’s food heritage.
