That the Parliament welcomes the decision by Nationwide Building Society and Virgin Money to maintain a strong branch network alongside digital services to ensure that customers have a channel of choice to bank in the way that suits them best; further welcomes Virgin Money’s branch promise to keep all 91 Virgin Money branches open until at least the start of 2030; joins the company in recognising the vital role that bank branches play, not just for customers, but also to ensure the health and vibrancy of high streets across the UK, and urges other banks to commit to maintaining their network of branches across Scotland, particularly in rural areas.
