Celebrating 100 Years of Dunbar United Football Club

That the Parliament congratulates Dunbar United Football Club, known as The Seasiders, on reaching its 100th anniversary in 2025; believes that the club has been a cornerstone of the Dunbar community since its formation in 1925, providing opportunities for generations of players and supporters to enjoy football and community spirit; acknowledges the club’s proud history, including lifting the Scottish Junior Cup in the 1960-61 season, and its continued participation in the East of Scotland Football League; commends the efforts of volunteers, players and supporters who have sustained the club for a century; welcomes the centenary celebrations, including the open day held at Hallhill Sports Centre on 6 April and the floral display created by East Lothian Council’s Amenity Services team unveiled in June; recognises the publication of 100 Years of Dunbar United: From 1925 to 2025 by lifelong supporter and former club president, Laurie Wood, which documents every season, key moments and hundreds of players from the club’s history, with all profits reinvested into the club’s future development, and wishes Dunbar United continued success for the next 100 years as what it sees as a vital part of East Lothian’s sporting heritage.
