That the Parliament understands that Pauline Ellison recently left the Scottish Partnership for Palliative Care (SPPC) after 22 years of service; further understands that Pauline dealt with all the administration and organisation of the Cross Party Group (CPG) on Palliative Care on behalf of the SPPC since the CPG was established; believes that for 22 years, Pauline has been the bedrock upon which so much of the SPPC’s work and achievements have stood, whether it was managing the production of SPPC influential reports, organising practitioners across Scotland to come together to solve problems and plan improvements, and running posters and exhibitions at conference to share good practice and so much more; recognises that Pauline brought rigorous organisation, meticulous attention to detail and kindness to all her work; believes that Pauline has, quietly and behind the scenes, made a significant contribution to improving the care of people dealing with serious illness, dying and bereavement; notes the view of SPPC colleagues that Pauline has been a calm and supportive presence, who will be missed by those in the palliative care sector, and wishes Pauline all the very best for the future.
