That the Parliament congratulates Professor Mairi Watson on her appointment as Glasgow Caledonian University's new Principal and Vice-Chancellor; notes that she will begin her new role on 1 February 2026 and wishes her every success; understands that Professor Watson brings substantial senior leadership experience, joining from the University of Hertfordshire where she is Deputy Vice-Chancellor, and looks forward to working with Professor Watson to ensure that the university continues to deliver major economic and social benefits in Glasgow and across Scotland in the years ahead.
