That the Parliament congratulates Galloway Distillery, formerly known as Crafty Distillery, in Newton Stewart, on its recent rebranding and official launch this week, with new investor and acclaimed television and movie actor, Sam Heughan, who is internationally recognised for his portrayal of Jamie Fraser in the award-winning television series Outlander, and his business partner and co-founder, Alex Norouzi; recognises the distillery’s continued success as a leading example of innovation and excellence in Scotland’s craft spirits industry through its production of Hills & Harbour Gin; acknowledges that, Sam Heughan, who has created Sassenach Whisky and Sassenach Wild Scottish Gin with a vision of celebrating Scottish heritage and innovation, will also be produced at the Craft Distillery; welcomes its continued commitment to crafting extremely special scotch whisky, vodka and gin using locally sourced botanicals that offer a taste of the region; commends its contribution to the local economy through job creation, tourism, and community engagement, and wishes the Galloway Distillery team every success in their future endeavours as they continue to grow their spirit brands and promote Galloway as a beautiful place to experience.
