That the Parliament praises the important work of Highland and Islands Blood Bikes, which was established in 2019 with the sole aim of couriering vital medical supplies and samples free of charge for the NHS; understands that since the group was established, it now operates seven days a week and that its main base is in Inverness, with smaller sites in Oban, Fort William and Wick; acknowledges that the most recent figures show that the group has delivered 563 urgent blood samples and made 259 pharmacy deliveries, covering more than 117,000 miles; understands that in the last year, it has grown its volunteer base by 20% and that it has expanded out to cover parts of the Western Isles and northern Highland communities; recognises what it sees as the vital work of blood bike groups across Scotland, which help to alleviate pressure on the NHS and provide an important service to rural and remote communities, and wishes all staff and volunteers involved with Highland and Islands Blood Bikes the best for the future.
