That the Parliament notes that 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the Hamilton Toy Collection in Callander, which is a much-loved family-run museum and collectors shop founded in 1995; recognises that the collection was the lifelong passion of the late Philip Hamilton, whose dream was to share his family’s toys and models with the public, a vision that is now lovingly carried forward by his family; acknowledges that the Hamiltons have together amassed 175 years of collecting, making this collection one of the largest privately owned toy collections in the UK; notes that the museum showcases a wide range of exhibits, including dolls, bears, toy soldiers, classic cars, trains, sci-fi figures and a 1900s-style nursery, which are displayed across five rooms; welcomes the museum’s role in preserving childhood memories and Scottish collecting heritage over three decades; understands that the milestone of 30 years is one that the Hamilton family believes Philip would have been deeply proud of, given his commitment to making the collection accessible to all, and notes the museum’s contribution to local tourism and its community engagement through initiatives such as the Callander Toy Fair, which bring joy to visitors of all ages and contribute to Scotland’s rich tourism offering.
