That the Parliament congratulates Action for Children, as 2025 marks the charity’s 70th anniversary in providing support, care and love for Scotland’s children, young people and families; understands that Action for Children currently delivers 90 services across Scotland, supported by its 850 staff, which cover 30 of the country’s 32 local authority areas; commends Action for Children’s vision ‘that every child has a safe and happy childhood and the foundations they need to thrive'; recognises that, over the past 70 years, Action for Children has supported hundreds of thousands of children, young people and families throughout Scotland; further recognises that support ranges from fostering service to homelessness support, disability and residential care to mental health and wellbeing services, providing short breaks to employability provision, supporting care experienced students and helping young carers while also delivering family support and youth justice work; notes that during the first week in September 2025, many local Action for Children services will be holding their own celebratory events, including at East Lothian New Horizons Housing Service, based in the South Scotland region; wishes all these local events well; pays tribute to the dedication of staff and volunteers past and present, and hopes that Action for Children has continued success so that its vision becomes a reality for Scotland’s children and young people.
