That the Parliament congratulates the North of Scotland Long Distance Walkers Association on the successful completion of its 10th anniversary Highland Coast-to-Coast challenge walk, which saw 155 walkers trek 36 miles from Ullapool to Ardgay in a single day; recognises the dedication of the 30 volunteer marshals who supported the walkers along the route, which traversed some of Scotland’s most spectacular landscapes including Loch Achall, Strath Mulzie and the Dornoch Firth; celebrates the spirit of community, adventure and appreciation for Scotland’s natural heritage that the event embodied; believes that such events have a positive impact on local economies and wellbeing, and acknowledges what it sees as the importance of ensuring that Scotland’s rural path networks remain safe, accessible and well-maintained and mapped for future generations of walkers, cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy.
