That the Parliament welcomes the recognition of Seacliff Beach, near North Berwick, as the best beach in Scotland and one of the finest in the UK in the Times and Sunday Times Best Beaches Guide 2025; notes that the beaches guide examined 756 beaches and 51 resorts across the UK; commends what the beaches guide describes as the beach’s “sheer cinematic drama”, as well as its excellent water quality, dog friendly access and rock pools, its proximity to the ruins of Tantallon Castle, and its views of Bass Rock, which is home to the country’s largest gannet colony; celebrates what it sees as East Lothian’s continued excellence as a tourist destination, and recognises the need to value Scotland’s beaches both for their natural beauty and what it sees as their important role in protecting the ecological integrity of Scotland’s coastlines.
