That the Parliament notes what it regards as the tremendous work of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service in dealing with the severe wildfires in the Highlands, which started near Loch Allan and spread to separate fires over areas of several miles; further notes that firefighters from across Scotland were involved in the operation to bring the fires under control; commends the invaluable work of all partner agencies, including Police Scotland, the Scottish Ambulance Service and local estate workers amongst others; notes the difficult terrain and extremely large area affected; commends local residents for following the instructions of the fire and police services; thanks local businesses for providing free food and drink to the emergency services, as well as other businesses who provided practical help, and acknowledges the community effort, which was involved in getting the fires under control.
