That the Parliament congratulates St Aidan’s Primary School in Wishaw on being awarded its 10th Green Flag through the internationally recognised Eco-Schools programme, delivered in Scotland by Keep Scotland Beautiful; acknowledges the school’s outstanding and sustained commitment to environmental education, sustainability and climate action within the school community and beyond; commends pupils, staff and families for their hard work and innovative approach to embedding eco-values into daily school life, including initiatives to reduce waste, promote biodiversity and support cleaner, greener local environments; recognises the role of the Eco-Schools programme in empowering young people to take climate action and make meaningful contributions to Scotland’s environmental goals; considers that the Scottish Parliament and the Scottish Government are committed to tackling the climate and nature emergencies; believes that the efforts of schools like St Aidan’s are vital to achieving the ambitions of the Curriculum for Excellence and the Learning for Sustainability agenda, and congratulates the whole school community on this milestone achievement, which sets an inspiring example for schools across Scotland.
