That the Parliament considers that wild salmon are in crisis and supports International Wild Salmon Day on 1 June 2025, which aims to raise awareness about the threats that wild salmon face and the solutions that can be used to safeguard these fish and the environment; believes that impacts, including climate change, poor water quality, the spread of invasive species and parasites all threaten their future; further believes that wild salmon need healthy rivers and oceans to thrive and that solutions are available that could secure wild salmon’s access to cold, clean water, and understands that, on 1 June, people from across the Pacific and Atlantic will come together and celebrate all wild salmon and show support for the restoration of wild salmon and their habitats.
