That the Parliament congratulates Rohan Seilman, project lead and development worker at A.R.Ts Afternoon, based in Leith, on being shortlisted as a finalist in the People’s Choice Award in the Employee of the Year category at the Scottish Charity Awards 2025, which will take place at the Radisson Blu hotel, Glasgow, on 19 June 2025; recognises Rohan’s nearly 30 years of inspiring young people across Edinburgh and the Lothians through his work with A.R.Ts Afternoon, which aims to break down socio-economic barriers to participation in the arts and music, ensuring accessibility for all; notes the organisation’s commitment to supporting young people who may face discrimination, poverty and health challenges, particularly in areas of high deprivation, and believes that access to inclusive and vibrant creative outlets, such as samba drumming, can help build confidence and foster collaboration and joy; commends Rohan for his dedication to improving the lives of young people in Edinburgh Northern and Leith through the creative arts, and wishes him every success at the awards ceremony.
